Master Douglas Eaton began his study in the Korean arts under Master David Burns in January 1981. Through Master Burns’ guidance and example he’s grown to appreciate the martial arts and strives for his own improvement.
Master Eaton was awarded his 1st Dan Black Belt on October 14, 1984 from his instructor and Master Fred DeStolfo of the United Martial Arts Assn. His current rank of 8th Dan was granted from the Chin Mu Kwan Tae Kwon Do Federation from Grand Master Fred DeStolfo in September of 2022. From 1986-1989, Doug trained in the Korean martial art of Kuk sool under Master Byung Sup Ma of Chicago. He achieved the rank of Red belt before his time with Master Ma ended. He has also trained extensively in the Israeli form of martial art of Krav Maga.
Doug’s teaching journey started the summer of 1981, teaching as an assistant for Master Burns. Subsequent opportunities arose at the collegiate level for assisting Master Burns in the Susquehanna University Phys. Ed. Dept. and assisting the Bucknell University TKD Club in 1984-86. In January 1987, he began teaching in Danville PA at the Danville Community Center. With direction from Geisinger Children’s Hospital and the American Lung Association, Master Eaton developed “Breather Achievers” for children with chronic breathing disorders in 1991. Since then, the Eaton Academy has expanded in both curriculum and enrollment to justify a move to its present location, 491 Ferry Street Danville Pa.
Master Eaton was a successful martial arts tournament competitor through the mid ‘90’s till his focus became his students’ success. The dedication and achievements of both he and his students were recognized by his induction in the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2004 and DeStolfo's Hall of Fame in 2023. His memberships include the International Chin Mu Kwan Tae Kwon Do Federation, Alliance Martial Arts, Strathmore’s Who’s Who in Business, The Peaceful Warrior Black Belt Club, and is the PA State Representative for the International Network of Christian Martial Artists.
Senior Master Carmine Napoli Jr. is a 6th Dan who has been training at Eaton Academy since 2011.
He started training with John Folsom in 1985 at the Salem Karate Club taking it as a physical education class for college. While in college he competed nationally and was ranked 7th on sparring as a purple belt.
After graduation, he joined Maeng Ho Taekwondo and in September of 1992 where he earned his black belt under Jimmy Hidalgo at Maeng Ho on Long Island. Carmine would be there 18 years inheriting Maeng Ho and becoming the head instructor.
Currently Carmine works as a Senior Application Developer living in Danville, Pennsylvania and is engaged to Lizz Maynes who lives in the Philippines. “Boracus would stay…” - Best Of The Best 2.
Senior Master Brian Ferguson-Avery is a 6th Dan who has been training at Eaton Academy since he first moved to Danville in 2001. He started training with Grandmaster Lenny Young in 1993 and has trained with Grandmaster AC Ahn in Georgia, where he earned his first black belt in 1999. A tax preparer and freelance writer, he lives in Williamsport with his wife, Sally, who started training before him. "No matter what rank, you can always improve your foundations."
Master Terry Miller began his training in Tae Kwon Do in august of 1990 under Master David Burns. Master Miller was promoted to Chin Mu Kwan First Dan on February 12, 1994 by Master Burns. Master Miller taught the Novice Children's Tae Kwon Do program for Master Burns. In January of 2009 Master Miller was promoted to 2nd Dan by Master Doug Eaton and Grand Master Kang of the Chin Mu Kwan Tae Kwon Do Federation. Master Miller is currently an assistant Instructor at Eaton Academy. Master Miller opened Seven Points Tae Kwon Do in February of 2012. On November 11th Master Miller was promoted to 3rd dan by Master Eaton. Master Miller was promoted to 4th Dan April 30th, 2016 by his instructor Master Eaton, and was promoted to 5th Dan by Master Eaton on November 2, 2019.
Master Mary Woodruff started her Tae Kwon Do martial journey in 2007. She received her 1st dan in 2010 and her current rank of 4th dan in 2023. Over the years, Mary's learned to adapt her techniques to fit her needs, "Tae Kwon Do has been good physically, mentally, and emotionally for me." Master Woodruff lives with her husband Lon in Catawissa. She is an avid traditional archer and enjoys hunting, fishing, and camping.

Master Lisa Curry began her training in 2011 with Senior Master Doug Eaton at his Riverside location. She followed 3 sons who trained at Eaton Academy, all earning black belts & one 2nd degree. Wanting to train in self-defense herself & all other benefits of Martial Arts. Earning black belt in 2014 advancing to 4th degree, Master rank, in October 2023. She assists in various classes including weapons & self defense seminars, also organized & coached Eaton/Sevenpoint Demonstration Team for many years. Performed at local events with end of season performances opening for the Harrisburg Senators Baseball Team.
Lisa, an ICU RN, lives in Danville with husband Jared & son Zachary.
